Amanda Rippee, MFTC,MMin

You are not alone in your trauma or crisis.

Hello, I am so glad you are here!

My name is Amanda Rippee. I am a believer, obsessive dog lover, and ambivert who is passionate about helping Christian women, couples, and families heal through current or post trauma/crisis situations.

In 2019 I moved to Colorado after living in California my entire life. At that time, I was married. What I didn’t know when I moved was that my whole world would come crashing down. My ex-husband was a functioning alcoholic throughout our marriage and the move to Colorado only intensified his drinking. In my marriage, I felt alone, lost, and overwhelmed. I remember so many times crying and screaming out to God, WHY!!?? After almost nine years of marriage, I filed for divorce. Filing for my divorce only made me feel more lost and alone, not to mention a great deal of shame.

It is from this experience that I felt God calling me to be a vessel He could use to help others suffering through trauma/crisis situations. Who are longing to find healing in a safe environment free of judgement or condemnation.

Background

During my marriage I knew that I wanted to be a Marriage and Family Therapist. So, I strapped myself in for the rollercoaster called grad school and achieved this degree in the summer of 2019. Within this degree I learned about trauma and instantly felt pulled to that population. This resulted in my desire to become an EMDR therapist, which became a reality in 2018 while in my masters.

Fast forward almost two years later, I had left my ex-husband and got the crazy notion that I wanted to not only be a Marriage and Family Therapist, but a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist. I therefore decided to go back to school for a second masters in ministry. I know, I am obnoxious!

Fun Facts

When I am not working with my amazing clients, I am typically doing something with my dog, around my home, or with my boyfriend. I also love working with my hands. Working with my hands can look like cooking, gardening, or different crafts. Family and friends are also really important to me so on any given day you can find me out and about enjoying time with them.

Why work with me

When working with clients I take a forthright, compassionate, and educational approach. My hope for all of my clients is they are able to learn, grow, and heal. I take a position of offering equal parts biblical integration with therapeutic techniques. I am not a pastor and as such, do not approach my counseling that way. In hopes of helping my clients find convenience in their therapy I offer mid-afternoon, and evening appointments that can be done in person or virtual.
